Guide to Staying Fit While Staying Home

While most everyone has been instructed to stay at home as much as possible, we don’t want to put a pause on our workout routines. To keep ourselves and others safe, we should definitely consider working out at home with the best workout equipment — our own bodies.

While staying in your house, try the following exercises!

Start with Warm Ups

Always start your exercises with warm ups! You want to get your muscles ready for your workout. Try jumping jacks, lunges, arm circles, hip rotations, anything you want to do to get your muscles warmed up and your heart rate going!

Begin your Regimen

Whether you want to workout with your own body as weight, by practicing yoga, or by running in place, be sure to wear your comfortable shoes and clothes for exercising!

Body Weight Exercise Examples:

  • Pushups

  • Planks

  • Superman Hold

  • Superman Punch

  • Body weight squats

  • Lunges

  • Tricep Dips

  • Calf raises

  • Wall sits

  • Glute bridges

  • Pistol squats

  • Situps

  • Crunches

End with a Cool Down Exercise

Having a proper cool down is imperative to a good work out. Cool down by stretching the muscles you worked out as well as other muscle groups! Touch your toes, stretch your shoulders, do a child’s pose or downward dog! Do all you can to cool your body down and stretch it out for ~ 5 minutes.
